Welcome to Deeper Learning Journal of Practice Volume 3!
Each article details the author’s implementation of a practice that provides deeper learning. Two articles, “Responding to Students’ Difficult Questions” and “Faculty Book Club” describe professional deeper learning. Other articles detail learning for students. Topics are: guiding leadership students to find strengths in negative events, supporting self-regulated learning, peer teaching on video conferencing platforms, enacting a realistic trial, facilitating inclusivity in students’ collaborations, and using social media to foster learning. A review of Teaching for Deeper Learning, a book by McTighe and Silver, includes the book’s major assertions, such as essential skills for thinking critically and problem-solving.
